Welcome one and all to the Island on the Web - The Wanderer's Home

I began an experiment about seventeen years ago called Island On The Web. The parameters of this experiment have expanded and contracted over the years but the overall concept is the same today as it was in the beginning.

This site is primarily to showcase my artwork and a celebration of my personal interests. I also use this site as an example of the type of work I can do as far as web design is concerned which is another reason it evolves as it does. I like to use this space to practice new techniques and tricks, and play around with new concepts as they come into focus.

The Island has changed as I have over the years, becoming a store front, journal, once it was even a "submit your own writings" site... that didn't work out to well. Now it's just an outlet for the many incarnations of me to be reflected in. This is version 19 or so.

Now you may be wondering, 'Why the island?', Well, on an early incarnation of the site, I made the statement, "No man is an island, but with the vast sea of information that is the Internet, every man can own one." That's what you are witnessing here. One man's island all to himself.

In the end I guess the Island on the Web is a haven for everything I care about in my life. I hope you enjoy what you find.
